SEASIDE SPECIAL

I live pretty near the seaside.....well, actually on the edge of the cliffs. Each day during the summer, I pass a small car park that looks out

anything you want made to order, so when Lim decided to build this Buell for the missus, he nipped down the road to "Vee Rubber Performance Tyres" and asked them to make him a pair of one-off tyres.

The rear one is 15" diameter and 16" wide. The front one is 23" diameter.

There was, however, one small problem...... there were no bike wheels available.

So Lim quite simply made his own. The rear one started life as two aluminium car wheels, thier centres were machined out and the rims cut into two 7" sections. These were ally-welded together to form that huge rear wheel. The whole machine is unbelievably radical, and the only part that was not made in Bangkok is the Buell engine............................................

to sea. It's a magnet for holidaymakers, and is usually packed with MPV's and cars with big plastic boxes on thier roof.

But I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this parked amongst them one sunny day, bucket, spade and windbreak hanging off the back, and a beautiful old Flathead V8 tucked under the bonnet.I just had to pull in and leave a note on it, as I was building a "Rod" of my own in my garage not 200 yards from where he was parked.

I knew curiosity would get the better of the owner, and I'd get a chance to photograph it. An hour or so later, I could hear the rumble of eight lazy cylinders coming down my Lane

TRIKING ROUND THE BEND

There’s a common misconception that trikes don’t handle. Push them too hard around a bend and they’ll lift the inside wheel.

Interview with Atan

Q1, What made you decide you wanted to work on Choppers? Was it a magazine, a film, or something else?

No chance with a properly built one. But you have to learn how to ride one first, and that’s not as easy as it looks.

If you’ve only ever driven a car, the transition is easy, but if all you’ve ever ridden is a bike, then you’re in for a STEEP learning curve!

All trikers will tell you  that once you’ve mastered the art, there’s a hidden bonus……the “GRIN FACTOR”.

Now,checkout this one for example………………………

Answer:

I started to show an interest for chopper since I was 9 years old. At that time it was the bicycle with high handle which look similar to ape hanger chopper that interest me the most. My family can’t afford to buy me one, so I borrowed from friends whenever I got the chance.

It was a hard time for my family during those days. We are not from the rich society, so every cent is valuable to us. When I was 13, my interest for chopper grows as I had the chance to see for myself a few bikers ridding their bikes in the middle of Kuala Lumpur. Watching films such as Easy Rider and other films about bikers’ life would be my favorite past time. At that age, I know nothing about chopper.

All I know is Harley Davidson is the coolest bike big or chopper that I have ever seen. At that moment I told myself that I would only have my license if I buy myself a chopper.

All these passion and interest came from my heart and soul and from that moment I started to put some extra efforts so that I can achieve my dream, to have a chopper of my own.
