ISSUE 8: We made our first big public appearance at “Stormin the Castle”, and it was stormy, blowing our brand new marquee down. Luckily there were plenty of Brit Chopper readers there, and we managed to salvage it (just). Read all about it. There are some great stories in here. “Gary’s Grandad” brings a lump to your throat, about the life of his Granpa, and the silly stories continue with Mrs. Twang’s “History of Pot-Noodles”.
Marvel at the Duracell Pinto-powered trike, Chopper Scotts VW three-wheeler and a BMW built by “The man who couldn’t be arsed”.
Plenty of bikes as usual, including an Enfield Bullet custom from Finland, a Lambretta (told you we’d feature anything), a Rat Goldwing, and even a blingy Harley from Sweden.
Cars….Loads. Phil Wells writes about Flathead Meltdown 2, where all the rods turned up to meet “Mr. Gyrocopter” Ken Wallace. Odgie writes about Drag Racing at Avon Park, and there’s a 1947 Ford pickup (plus more, of course).
The “Brit Chopper” cartoon is born, drawn by the talented Mrs. Twang, so, obviously, it’s very silly, and there are more “Tech” things, like “LED Lighting” and “Ask Sooze”, and more fascinating adventures in Thailand. But my favourite feature in this one is a” A Chuffin’ Good Day”, all about a Hotrodder ending up as stoker on his mate’s steam engine on a day out. We told you we’d feature ANYTHING that went “Suck Squeeze Bang Blow”. This one does all of that, except “Bang”.
CENTRESPREAD: A radical, shedbuilt, Harley 45. It’s awesome.
