Review of Issue 10

ISSUE 10: If you like silly bikes, look no further. The “Dolmette Chainsaw Massacre” is all about a bike with 24 chainsaw engines. Other bikes include Gez’s homebuilt GS1000, a very odd BMW, and a NEW Brough Superior.

Cars are, as usual, well catered for. Philthy Phil unveils his new baby, the “Odean Shag Sedan”, a nearly original 1930 Ford Model “A”, disgustingly tatty. There’s an Austin A40 “Just like Grandad Drove”, but some nutter’s fitted a huge V8 in it.

Trikes….There’s Ant’s Yam XJ900. Nothing out of the ordinary you may think, but Ant’s 15 and he built the lot. Going OTT is Bazza’s monster V8. You can hardly see the engine for carburettors.

Silly stuff’s well catered for in this issue, with Sooze’s “History of Brasso”, and a bit about favourite things. Mad Richard builds a jet engine and fires it up in the Editor’s garden, scaring all the neighbours. Full photo record included. Tech tips include “Jolly Good Workshop Tips” and the usual “Ask Sooze”.

CENTRESPREAD: Paul Ponkow from the “Issue 3 Cover” builds his wife a bike so she can learn to ride. One slight problem (for her). It’s a 650 Bonneville with 20” overstock forks and a 45 degree rake. Read the story and see if she managed to ride it. STUNNING bike!
